Generate API key & secret

To get started, you will need to create your API key and API secret pair in the Qredo web app. This process pertains to both personal accounts and organization accounts.

Create one or more Organizations in Qredo Wallet

The organization account is a special type of subaccount to your personal Qredo account. The organization can have funds and wallets and they are separate from the ones that belong to the personal account. You can add to the organization other personal accounts and assign to them roles to participate in managing organization wallets and assets. All accounts who are part of an organization are called members. Learn more about organization roles that each member can have.

  6. Make sure to copy down and store securely your API secret as you will not be able to visualize it anymore. This is the final step.

Once accepted, your next step is to start signing API calls.

If you lose your secret, generate a new pair

There is not way to recover a lost secret, so just go through the same process again to generate a new API key and API secret pair.

Organization accounts

The organization account is a special type of subaccount to your personal Qredo account (you create organizations in the Qredo Wallet web app. The purpose of the organization is to help multiple Qredo accounts establish hierarchy and run joint management and operations over wallets and assets which belong to the organization. Qredo accounts added to the organization are called members and each of them is assigned one of the available roles: administrator, fund organizer, approver, and trader. For example, the creator personal account is always assigned an administrator's role. Learn more about organization roles that each member can have.

You can use the User API on behalf of the organization. This means that you must generate a dedicated set of API key and API secret. The process for that is very similar to that of a personal account. The only difference is that:

  • only an Administrator of an Organization can create/delete and manage the API key & API secret pairs.
  • on step 2. for generating API key & secret pair with Personal accounts, you must select your Organization settings and follow the same process until the final step.

Personal and organization wallets are separate

Your API calls pertain to your API authentication: the key and secret. This means that you cannot view the organization assets, funds and wallets using the personal account API key & secret pair; and vice-versa.
